High School DxD (ハイスクールD×D?) is a Japanese light novel series written by Ichiei Ishibumi and illustrated by Miyama-Zero. It will be adapted into an anime television series in 2012.[1][2][3]
Plot
Issei Hyodo is a second year high school student who has got an enormous sexual addiction and very lascivious behavior. He lives a peaceful life until he is called for a date with a girl one night. When he arrives to the place of the date, he sees a little girl who is standing next to him, after that, he went to see if she was the girl who he wanted to meet, at that moment, he is brutally attacked by the girl, and after that, he dies.
When the protagonist woke up, he discovered that he had reincarnated into a devil, and discovers that the school girl with whom he had been in love for a very long time, is a devil too.

- He's a pervert, has a habit of fantasizing, and is well known for being creepy at the academy, but he's also surprisingly hot-blooded and hard-working. His first girlfriend suddenly kills him, but Rias saves him and brings him back to life as a devil of her own clan, making him a member of the Occult Research Club.His rank is "Pawn" and his powers as a devil rank at the bottom so far, but on his left arm he wields the Sacred Gear, Crimson Dragon Emperor's Gauntlet. This stupid, perverted protagonist works hard day and night for the sake of his master and the highest ranking devil, Rias.

- Komaou Private Academy High School, Senior. Rank: King.
- A madonna of the academy, Issei's master, and a woman people admire. Her true identity is the Crimson-Haired Ruin Princess, the heir to one of the highest ranking and famous devil families, the Gremory. She's enrolled as an exchange student, but the truth is that she holds the power in the academy, and acts as the president of the occult research club, which is made up of the devils under her command. Her rank is "King". She's an invincible heroine who saw the power sleeping in Issei and took interest in him.
- Akeno Himejima ( 姫島 朱乃, Himejima Akeno?)
- Voiced by: Shizuka Itou
- Komaou Private Academy High School, Senior. Rank: Queen.
- Akeno is the second-in-command of the Gremory clan, known as the "Priestess of Thunder". She's vice president of the occult research club, and her rank is Queen. She's a beautiful girl who ranks second in popularity after Rias. Normally she's very gentle, and often says "oh my" or "Ufufu". There are a lot of mysteries to her, and Issei is right to instinctively fear her, because once she enters battle she becomes a super-class sadist.

- Voiced by: Azumi Asakura
- Komaou Private Academy High School, Sophomore. Rank: Bishop.
- Asia is a beautiful Sister who Issei met while in town. She is a girl with a gentle heart who possesses a divine sacred gear, "Twilight Healing", in her body that is capable of healing the wounds of humans, angels, fallen angels and devils alike.
- Once, she was under one of the fallen angels who opposed the devils, but after certain turn of events she becomes a devil under Rias's control and transfers to Issei's class. Her rank among Rias's underlings is "Bishop". When Issei saved her she fell in love with him, and eventually with interventions from their leader Rias, moved in with him to live together at the Hyoudou household!
- Koneko Tōjo ( 塔城 小猫, Toujo Koneko?)
- Komaou Private Academy High School, Sophomore. Rank: Rook.
- A small girl who is a grade junior to Issei, she's the mascot of the school because of her cute loli appearance. Being the "rook" of Rias, she boasts of extreme physical strength as well as defenses. Not the talkative type, she's more of a cool type, and being the one in the group who gets along with Issei the least, when she does open her mouth she usually insults and rebukes Issei regarding his weakness and perverted nature. She's almost always seen eating something(most commonly youkan) when not in action.
- Yūto Kiba ( 木場 祐斗, Kiba Yuuto?)
- Komaou Private Academy High School, Sophomore. Rank: Knight.
- Yuto is a gentle swordsman, and his rank in the occult research club is Knight. He calls himself Issei's friend, but he has good looks, a very good brain, and a pretty nice personality, so he's the object of admiration for all the female students, which causes Issei to see him as an enemy (for no reason).

Music
The anime has two pieces of theme music : one opening theme and one ending theme. The opening theme for the anime series, entitled "Trip -Innocent of D-" will be produced by I've Sound, and will be performed by the band Larval Stage Planning The ending theme song is "Study x Study" performed by new voice actress unit called StylipS, which is composed of Arisa Noto, Yui Ogura, Kaori Ishihara, and Maho Matsunaga, who will also have voice roles in the anime.
